True, that. They will have have all the dealer stamps in the book, and any service parts used will be 'proper' manufacturer parts.
Unfortunately unseen things like pollen filters, fuel filters, spark plugs, coolant changes, brake fluid changes may well have been 'accidentally' missed by the dealership although they will have been charged for.
The work will also have been done by the lowest-grade technician they can get away with, in order to maximise margin on the fleet arrangements with their pared down pricing, leaving more experienced (and hence quicker) techs to do the much more lucrative private work (I would say properly, but I'm not willing to go that far).0 -

A chevette with electric window, that's impressive!0 -
Top Gear is the last place to learn anything about cars.
Its a useful guide to which cars to avoid though, generally those that the 'team' enthuse about.0 -
One or two exceptions. James May's Panda.... And Clarksons Focus.
Although him saying he owned one probably put most people off buying one.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Well that was kind of the point, Top Gear doesn't tell you an awful lot of what you might want/need to know, but then again it's an entertainment show and I wouldn't expect it to be terribly informative.
Had a scout through autotrader/ebay/gumtree and am suitably overwhelmed:D0
