Question regarding credit card application - Employment

Hi All,

Was wondering if anyone could help me with this & it might be a dumb question lol...

I am applying for a credit card but am unsure what to put for 'Employment Details'.

The problem is I recently resigned from a job I was at for 3 years. Since then I have been working for a company for around 4 weeks but through an agency. I am working full time & I am earning slightly more than my previous position.

So for the employment details am I allowed to put the company name even though technically I do not have a permanent position there (although it is likely I will in the future). Or should I put the agency name as my employer? OR are neither of these allowed & I need to wait until I have a permanent position?

I'm confused  Do I need to put this application off until I am actually employed with them or do I have the same rights and can still apply even though I'm with an agency......?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out. :) x

I'd say put the agency name, they're who pay you I guess?

I would put the agency name.

Thanks guys :) that's what I'm thinking. I'm also with an umbrella company who technically pay me but they are part of the agency so I guess I should just put the agency name. Hopefully this doesn't affect my chances even though I should get accepted.

I can't remember the last time any bank approached my company for verification I worked there. I know Amex contacted my employer when a colleague applied with them - but HR asked my colleague for permission before responding.

Thanks for that that's really helpful.

That's what I was worried about because I didn't want to put the company name...just in case because I guess even though technically I'm working for them my payment is coming from the agency/umbrella company....so just in case they do want to check. I'll put the agency as that's where my money is coming from.

I'm sorry but I have to ask, do you actually make the Umbrella's? LOL
