Renting a place with a fixed price with electricity paid for ?
Do you guys know if there is anywhere I can rent and just put my computers there running and pay a fixed price of electricity every month? I am using roughly around £250 on my electricity bills on my computers and am looking to expand this so was looking to see if there are any ways to "save money"

Anyone? I am basically looking to rent a room/ place where I can pay the same amount every month regardless of my energy usage.0

No.
There are probably some landlords who will include the cost of electricity in the rent at a fixed fee. But it would be on the assumption that your usage would be typical domestic usage, and I would hope there would be a fair use clause.
You do realise the landlord will still have to pay for the electricity, right?
So you would just be taking advantage if you did find someone willing to rent you a room.0 -

Yeah of course - but what I mean by a room is a professional setup where I can actually leave my computers there. Not a flat where electricity bills are included - if I wanted to do that, I would have found a place to rent rather easily0 -
Why so expensive? Wouldn't renting server space would be more cost-effective?0

You're using a lot. How many computers have you got? Based on my simple calculations that's about 30 servers running 24/7 at 100W each.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I am using roughly 2.5Kw electricity every hour so its a lot. Its to mine bitcoins. I think there are some specalized computer places in america you can rent an area, leave your rigs there and just pay for the rent at a set price monthly regardless of electricity usage. Maybe there isn't one like this in the UK I guess..0 -
Maybe its called data centers? Gonna have a look thanks :money:
Search for CoLocation. But you're going to be disappointed. They do offer power included in the fixed cost, but will limit the amount of power per unit (because some of their main costs are power - UPS, remember, and air conditioning - which is proportional to heat which is proportional to power). For one provider, their prices translate to roughly £500 per kW per month.
Your problem is fundamental economics. A data centre can't get electricity cheaper than you, and there are extra power-based costs (UPS, heat removal). So, you're asking for us to find a data centre that fails at a fundamental part of the business. That's a tough ask.0 -
A 10 amp running 5 u rack units is going to run at £500.00 a month for power allocation alone, there are plenty of co-locators in Scotland.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
