Wilkinson and Love2Shop vouchers! grrr

I had to suffer a lot of emabarrassment today when my Wilkinson store refused to accept my vouchers and they told me they were fake and basically branded me a criminal in front of a busy store!
They have signs above every till with love2shop vouchers on with the argos logo on as the first retailer and they told me these are the only vouchers we accept. I rang Love2Shop and they told me this was completely wrong and it is the argos ones which have been recalled and are potentially fake!

I told wilkinson mine were the real ones and the new edition but still the manager refused to accept them because they 'fake' even after ringing up to check herself!!!!!!!!!!!

I worked in Virgin over christmas and Love2Shop told us not to take ANY £5 to be safe and cutomers were to send it back on the address on the reverse to either get £10 back or cash. I guess recently they have new £5 vouchers but have neglected to tell the retailers and so they are dxoing the same.
So it that respect they are in the right.

On the other hand the treatment you received was terrible and I would complain to H/O!!!
    Debts: Gym £[strike]465.75[/strike] Student account [strike]£1039.88[/strike] Overdraft [strike]£129.00[/strike] Credit Card [strike]£2772.22[/strike] Loan [strike]£6222.01 [/strike]
    Total £10628.86

The £10 ones that retailers will not accept (or at least I won't in my shop;)) is the one with Argos at the top left and the silver foil at the top says 'Love2shop'. If it says 'High Street Gift Voucher' it's OK to use.

Also the new ones coming out in a couple of weeks have a foil hologram strip at the left hand side like a new £20 note.

yes exactly they are the ones they shouldn't accept. My local Wilkinson's advertises the fact they ONLY accept vouchers with ARGOS on!! Even though I gave them the phone number to Love2Shop to confirm they were accepting the fraudulent vouchers they still continue to do so and have banners above every till with argos vouchers on.

My vouchers have Boots as the first retailer and are unaffected by the voucher recall.

Ellybelly - we were given some of these as an incentive at work and they were a fake batch. they have now been changed. And I work for a bank - you are not alone
  • I had problems today when I tried to use some Love2shop vouchers in my local Wilko. I had one old style £1 voucher and one new style £1 voucher but the cashier wouldn't take the old style one and said they are no longer valid. I also have two £5 old style ones but it looks as if I won't be able to use them:mad: Does anyone have any further info on this or know the contact details for Love2shop?
  • I bought vouchers on behalf of work, and received this email earlier this week. It explains how to exchange / refund.... The new vouchers have a all of the logos in a heart.

    HTH.

Product Recall - High Street & Love2shop Gift Vouchers

Due to a number of counterfeit vouchers found to be in circulation, we have made the decision to recall ALL denominations of 'old style' High Street and Love2shop Gift Vouchers. We have instructed all retailers to stop accepting these vouchers with immediate effect.

Whilst we understand this may cause you some inconvenience, the GOOD NEWS is we have recently introduced a new design of Gift Voucher, which incorporates extra security features, similar to that of the new £20 note. Below you can see a visual of the new voucher design, which has already been communicated to all retailers. Therefore, if you have recently received any of our new vouchers you can continue to shop with confidence and, of course, any future deliveries to you will be the new design.

If you still have any 'old style' vouchers, you will need to send them back to us so they can be exchanged for our new vouchers. Simply follow the step by step guidelines detailed below.

The vouchers shown above are now being accepted in stores.

Any other High Street Gift Vouchers/Love2shop vouchers (that are different to the designs shown above) are no longer accepted by retailers and need to be sent back to us for replacement.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE FOR THE EXCHANGE OF 'OLD STYLE' VOUCHERS:

    1. Note down, for your records, the serial numbers of the vouchers you are returning.
    2. Post the vouchers, via 1st class post, along with a letter detailing your name, address, postcode and daytime telephone number and the value of vouchers you are sending back for exchange, to: Rachael Richards, highsreetvouchers.com, Valley Road, Birkenhead. CH41 7ED
    3. If you are returning vouchers to the value of £100 or more, for added security and peace of mind, we strongly recommend that you return them by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which will enable you to track delivery via the Royal Mail track and trace service.
    4. Upon receipt of your returned vouchers, we will issue you with replacement vouchers, to the value of those you have returned, plus an extra £4 in vouchers towards the cost of Special Delivery, if this has been used for returns of £100 or more.
    5. The vouchers you will receive as replacement will be our new design vouchers, with added security, which are now being accepted by all retailers.
Please allow up to 10 working days for your exchange to be processed.

Details of how to exchange vouchers can also be viewed on our website at www.highstreetvouchers.com

Naturally, we are sorry for the unavoidable inconvenience this may cause you. We would like to offer our thanks for your continued support, along with our assurances that every effort will be made for a quick and efficient turn around of replacement vouchers.

Should you have any queries or concerns regarding the product recall, don't worry, we have a team of advisors ready to take your call on 0845 337 1627, we are available between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

    Yours sincerely,
