Does anyone remember when Tesco introduced the 80 bag box at 27p?
Like many people I found the new 40 bag pack to be another back door price hike passed off by Tesco as an improvement. As shown in the following quoted reply from their customer services.
''After speaking with our Business Support Team they have explained the following reason for the changes made to the Tesco Everyday Teabags.
“The tea bags have been redeveloped and are now a much higher quality than before, as a result, they are costing more to produce. Instead of increasing the price to our customers, we have reduced the pack size.
The 80 tea bag pack were originally launched at the wrong price and has been discontinued in all our stores.
Due to the popularity of the 40 tea bag pack the decision was made to phase out the 80 pack. The price of the 40 teabag pack has been corrected and is now 20 pence.”
I can't believe they could have had a product at the wrong price for so long which is why I'm asking if anyone knows when the 80 bag box was first introduced. Personally I've bought it for the past two years and I want to go back to them some more on this....call me pedantic!0 -

Is this true? I tried their 80 pack value tea bags and threw 78 of them into the bin. But might risk 20p if someone can tell me the new ones are better.
PS. Before anyone mentions it, it would cost me £9 and 2 x 1 hour bus rides to go to sainsburys and I would have no other reason to go except for a box of tea bags!0 -
We have tried all value tea bags and have to say, Asda were the worse, closely followed by Morrisons.
We only buy Sainsbury's 40 pack at 20p now, and have never had any complaints from any family members. 3 of my sisters now buy them. They are also fairtrade so we are all doing our little bit there too.0 -
I bought the Tesco Everyday Value ones a month ago and they are awful. I threw them straight out and bought some Tetley.0

Thanks, I won't bother trying them now.0
