Have tesco followed sainsburys and stopped doing the 80 value tea bag box? All I could see was a pack of 40 original at a higher price:(
I changed to tescos as sainsburys stopped doing them, now it seems I will have to change again but not sure where.

Bought Tesco value tea bags 2 days ago, so yes, still available. They are round now and taste OK but I will try Asda's if they are like Tetley.

Sainsburys are still doing Basics tea bags. 15p for 40, just as good as they ever were.

The new Sainsbury's Basics tea bags taste just as nice as the old ones in my opinion.

The only difference between them is that the new ones come in packs of 40 and are round.

    Sainsbury's Basics have just gone up to 20p for 40 bags/100g! :(

Tesco Everyday Value are also 20p for 40 bags/100g.

ASDA SmartPrice are the cheapest, at 27p for 80 bags/250g. But for how long?

I might buy a pack and see if SWMBO notices.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

Are value tea bags actually any good. Tea is one of the things I always buy branded (i don't stick to one brand just buy whatever is on offer) I tried t valve once, they were awful but that was a long time ago, maybe they have improved?

Do you have to leave them in the cup for longer? (not that it matters just wondered if they are weaker than standard ones)

    Hi,
We were the same, always branded, until we tried Sainsbury's. Now I tell everyone how good they are. The new round ones are just as good!

  • Spasguidedogs, we're exactly the same. Soo glad to have found Sainsburys, it feels great not knowing that'll be another fiver on the shopping when the end of the box looms.
