Car insurance quote options to make it cheaper

Hi there, my car insurance is due in less than 2 weeks and i've been having a scan around.
I am a member of the IAM and so i have my insurance with IAM Surety as they are very good at offering competitive quotes, normally matching them or beating the other quotes all together.
My recent renewel quote has come in at £480 and it includes the following:
Comprehensive cover
Legal cover (Extra £18.50)
Admin fee (£16)
Excess of £200
Protected No Claims (7 years)
Social, Domestic and Pleasure including Commuting
10,000 annual miles
All of the above brings it to the £480 quoted by IAM Surety. When i have done my comparison searches, and other car insurance searches i've found that using equal options as above, the price is about the same - Sometimes the cashback offered by Quidco/TopCashback brings it lower but only by about £20-30.
I have seen the prices drop as low as £400 if i don't include options like legal cover and protected no claims. So i am likely going to see if i can just remove the options... But i seen something very strange while searching for one of my other quotes.
I seen on TopCashback you can get £60 cashback from the Co-Operative - Thus far these have had the best rates even with all the stuff included.
I have found though that i can save an extra £40 or so if i take off Commuting. The reason behind me considering doing such a thing is because my place of work is literally a 5 minute drive (On a good day) and in a straight line quite literally. Obviously this is a slight grey area i feel, but i don't see why i should pay an extra £40+ just for such a short space of travel time.
What type of impact would this have potentially with it being such a distance away?
Thus far this is the information inputted into Co-Op (I will be trying it on other sites now, but i don't think i will get it lower...)
Excess £350
6000 annual miles maximum
£5000 maximum car value
Social, Domestic and Pleasure
No Claims NOT Protected
NO Legal cover
Price to pay: £360 PLUS £60 TopCashback
It's just a shame i can't input that i'm an IAM member, or that i can't increase the excess - Or even accurately state how many years No Claims i have on me.

It's not a grey area. You could save yourself £480 and not be insured at all.
If you're not insuring your car for commuting, and you commute, you're driving uninsured. That could result in a IN10 conviction and your insurer not paying out if you did have a claim.
The extra £40 is a bargain when you consider it will make your insurance policy valid."Always fulfil your needs, only fulfil your wants when your needs are no longer a concern" - citricsquid0
