Electoral Roll Address doesn't match Post Office Address

I've encountered an issue where there are multiple addresses for my flat. Equifax and Experian are both telling me I'm not on the electoral roll and also telling lenders this. I voted the other week, so obviously I am registered. Speaking with Equifax/Experian is not getting anywhere, so I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with this.

They are telling me that I need to tell the council that they've got the address wrong. You'd think the council would know and also that they'd be able to search the electoral roll and match up my personal information to see that I am registered to vote...

Apparently this is a bit of an issue, particularly in Scotland. You don't say where you are based?
Lots of tenement type flats have addresses like 3F2 ie third floor second flat etc. and the electoral role will instead have 3/2 so they don't match. Stupid I know.
