They seem to move at the speed of an arthritic snail on crutches after a good night out.

I opened a SIPP with them at Easter, on a monthly investment basis, but they have yet to take a payment. The market has moved on since then and I'm at least 1.5% behind.

I bet their fees will be extracted faster than a cheetah on speed :mad:.

You should have had a letter stating the specific date that the first contribution would be taken, very soon after you opened the account.

I opened up an ISA at the end of November. First monthly contribution was the beginning of January.

You can always put a lump sum in if you want money in faster than waiting for the first monthly payment to go?

They did indeed. That date was yesterday, so I'm expecting the first contribution to go out tomorrow. I was just a little surprised that they couldn't have started last month.

I did just that but, since it's considered a lump sum contribution, I had to put it all in one fund instead of spreading it across the portfolio, thus introducing an imbalance from the outset. I doubt it will make much difference over a long period though.

Wait until you want to move away from them. They hang onto your pennies so hard that you'll pull them into copper wire before you wrench them from their grasp.
