Thames Water themselves will know the location of sewers.0

Apparently they don't! They've asked us to check if we are building within 3 metres of a public sewer. I'm not sure how to respond!0

In my experience, the water companies don't know where the sewers are. Severn Trent told me I had a public sewer running along the back of my house to supply neighbours whose houses were built later than mine. They had to back down when no sewer was found and I insisted they write me a letter stating there were no public sewers to the rear of my house, which they did.0
