Npower Refund

After I read MSE article, Reclaim energy bill refunds. It wares consumers that your previous supplies may be safe guarding excess cash on our behalf and not informing you, and we should contact these suppliers for refunds;

I called Npower in May 2014 regarding this, even though I transferred from them to Scottish Power in March 2013. They said they would conduct an investigation.

I received a letter and cheque for overpayment of £27.47 from Npower in June. I called npower on Saturday to clarify that this was my excess only. I had to point our that there had been an unrealisable delay in this payment, the representative offered an additional £20 payment for their ‘process error’ in final payment to close this file. I agreed to this payment as final.

There were a number of deficiencies with npower account closing processes, i.e. failure to contact me regarding excess payment, an unreliable time to resolve this overpayment, reluctance in offering compensation. If it was not for Martin Lewis’s article I would not have been advised :beer:

Beware you can also owe money to Npower.
