Driver address different to where car kept

Options
New to the site so bear with me. I am a state paid carer to my disabled father. I got a car at no cost to me given by a relative so I could use it mostly to transport him for outings etc and for very occasional leisure use by me. It is registered in my name at my home address (same as address on my driving licence), but kept in a residents parking area at my father's address overnight and mostly during the day. I do not use it for travel to and from my home address to my father's house and if I wish to use it for my own use, must travel to father's house by public transport, then take the car from there.

For online comparison purposes, at which address do I register the car? The forms don't seem to allow for this kind of eventuality. So I assume I must ring up a selection. Previously I did insure online, but only realised as I came to renew that they assumed my father's address was my address and I guess if I had made a claim they wouldn't have paid. Can somebody please advise. Thanks.

Get the quotes from the address the car is kept, then ring up and explain, before taking out the policy. Easy apart from some charge more for it all done on-line. Ask (demand nicely) that the honour the quote as it's their website that is not good enough.

Depends on the insurer, however logically as explained by some that the higher risk address is used.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. Just tried getting an online quote on the co-op site which allowed me to give my own address, state that the car was kept at another address, but not give that address. Was refused a quote based on the information in the form. I guess I'll have to ring them.
