Has anyone used Autoguard Warranties. I've just put a deposit on a second-hand car and the dealer has offered me one. I usually avoid these, but he did show me a list of work he'd done that had been reimbursed.

Are they any good?

If it were that good, why doesn't the dealer just load it on the price of the car and extend the warranty, surely a good selling point.
    How much does it cost?

Ask him for a list of the claims that haven't been approved :)

It is your money, but in general warranties don't cover anything that is likely to go wrong/wear out: you have to be very lucky (or unlucky depending on your viewpoint) to get something to go wrong that is actually covered.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    £250 for two years.
  • Take that £250, shred it, pack it in a Rizla and smoke it....at least you'll have had some use from it.

Sorry but you've got more chance of p ing in the queens handbag than one of these warranties paying out.

I'd walk away from the car in question purely because the dealer was trying to con me out of the £250.

That was kind of my thought too. Just thought I'd get a confirming opinion.
