Hello All,
I have an ISA with II, I tried to topup my existing funds, and it seems I could not and now I have two listings for my funds I tried to topup, does anyone know why this happens?
BlackRock Gold & General A Acc
I tried to top that up and ended up with,
BlackRock Gold & General D Acc
so now I have two entries for that.. I cannot topup most of my other funds either, apart from HSBC FTSE tracker
Schroder US Mid Cap A Acc
AXA Framlington Biotech R Acc
AXA Framlington Global Technology R Acc
these funds won't let me topup and I don't want to have dual entries for both

So what is happening is the II will not allow you to buy the old "dirty" class funds, only the new clean class funds which is why you end up with two. At some point II will convert your old "dirty" class funds and make them the new "clean" class fund. So eventually you will be back to just one fund (the "clean" version).
The "Clean" funds has lower charges, but you get no rebate, the "dirty" funds are more expensive but you get a 100% rebate for them.
Everything has changed in the world of funds, thanks to the government it's even more confusing then ever for the novice investor.
the Tracker by the way is not a fund some doesn't have a clean and dirty class. So you can will buy that as normal.0 -
