Car insurance - occupation

I'm just getting car insurance quotes, and I'm never sure how to describe my occupation. I work at a university, for 6 years my job title was 'Programmes Administrator', so I used to select 'Office Administrator' or something like that, but over the last year I've had three different job titles - 'Academic Partnerships Officer', 'Academic Enhancement Officer' and now I have just started a year's secondment as 'Quality and Enhancement Officer' (my substantive post to which I return in a year is 'Academic Enhancement Officer').

When choosing my occupation there is an option entitled 'Education Officer'. Do you think this would be a legitimate choice? The reason I ask is that it seems to make my quote quite cheap so is a good option from that point of view, but I think what they might mean is something more local authority related and possibly at a higher level than I work (though I'm not sure), and I am worried about them quibbling in the event of making a claim.

Any thoughts?

You can use any job description that describes your job

Try this for best possible options

Thanks. I did have a look at that but it didn't really help

The best thing to do is ring the car insurance company to check. It sounds like it would be reasonable, but at leas that way you have it on record that they have said that fits your job description, so you can't become unstuck in the case of an accident!

Keep a record of the date and time of the call and who you speak to, just in case.
