tax credits and expenses etc

Just renewed my tax credits over the phone and for the first time the lady asked if my OH has recieved any expenses/company car etc which this year for the first time he did through them paying his travel to london and various other expenses.
Will this affect our tax credits for last year and will we have been overpaid???

You have always had to include these in a claim for TCs. They are referred to as Benefits in Kind and if your husband's employer supplies him with a company car and mileage allowance or other benefits then they have to be included.

Have a gander at the notes that accompany the claim form - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/tc600_notes.pdf - and look at page 38, it tells you what has to be included. It's always been like this though - it's not a new thing.
