Hi all,
I am looking to change my car in next 3-4 months. I will be looking for new or upto 6-9 months old car.
I wanted some advice on when is the best time to get a good discount on the list price. Is it in Aug when the dealers want to get rid of their stock in preparation of arrival of lots of new stock for Sept or do I have a better chance after Sept especially if I don't mind "14" registered plates ?
Thanks in advance.

The time of dealers having lots of new stock sitting there idle for many months has mostly gone.
If they have a car they cannot sell it's probably an unwanted colour or spec.
Buy it when your ready. If a cars less than a year old i would wonder why its been traded in already. Is it a Friday afternoon car with lots of niggles and the previous owner rejected it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Around Christmas is a quiet time where you might do well, as fewer people have the money to buy
Convertibles best in autumn\winter
If you want ex-demo then how about enquiring with dealers in advance to find out when they plan to change demonstrators0 -
The car we are buying is being made to order. You tell them the colour and specs and they build it.
You can still get a good deal though. Get a quote from a decent online broker and ask them to match it. We got a £10,500 car for £7800 after some fairly easy haggling and by taking up the finance. (Which we can immediately repay)0
