    Hi everyone,

NMLC, well done on the ppi claim.

Hester, I apologise in advance for the daffodil fabric - it's very yellow, if you don't like it give it to a charity shop.

DH had another meeting with idiot manager yesterday and was upset again. He's obviously a man who doesn't like to be shown to be wrong and was coming up with all sorts of spurious reasons for the grading he gave (which was at odds with the grading DH's last manager gave for the first 9 months of the year). Apparently he told DH very grudgingly that he would change the grade "if it would make DH happy," making it seem as if DH was an insecure little boy. I've told him to go back in and say "yes, it will make him happy and leave it at that, not to try to rationalise with the kn*bhead as it won't work. It looks like the feelers he's put out for a transfer might come to fruition though, so fingers crossed.

He's now gone to the gym, then we are going to DS' to finally finish the doors they've been installing. We were hoping to mow their lawn as well but it looks like the rain forecast is about to arrive.

    Have a good day.

    Morning all,

Tru what a lovely story. That's what you call dedication to his fallen comrades. As for the womans advice... what planet is she on? Certainly not ours. Oh how the other half live eh?

Woke up with a bang this morning, thunder and lightening the works. Millie dog got me up at 5 and there wasn't a thunder cloud in the sky. Only the hardiest of people will be walking their dogs this morning.... unfortunately I wont be one of them.

Hubby has got an appointment with his bank manager this morning. Basically they rang him on Thursday 'as one of their better customers' they wanted to know if he'd like to discuss moving his loan over to them. He's going to take down his paperwork to see if they can get him a better deal. I'm thinking of going down to see Mom.

Lucy dog is limping again. I think she did a bit too much yesterday. She isn't supposed to be getting up and down off the furniture or walking up and down steps but the doors have been open and she's been going down the steps to the garden and of course if she goes down she comes up again.

'Youngest' was really suffering with his hay fever yesterday. I bought him some stuff from the chemist which seems to be helping. We also kept the air con running overnight which not only cools the room, it draws out any impurities/pollen out of the air.

Daughter and fianc! have decided not to wait for 2 years to get married, they are getting married next May. I'm working on hubby to part with some cash. Unless he spends it on wheels, tools or gadgets, he's not keen on parting with his money.

    Shopping hopefully today. We'll see.

Onwards and forwards (dodging the rain as we go),

    have a great day all.

ps anyone know how Hilstep is getting on?

That totally cracked me up, it's as funny as the silly posh girl from BGT who wants to take violins to Cambodian orphanages. What world do these people live in? Not one I recognise!

Loved all the veteran stories and photos, am so proud to think my dad served for so long in the war and then for another 10 years. He would have absolutely loved seeing that yesterday.

Better get ready to go as soon as DH arrives with van, wish us luck, I think we will need it.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

    Morning all,

We've just got up:eek: even 5 yr old grandson. Think yesterday travelling back from Spain has tired him out.
It's pouring here as well. Think we are still going to brave the rain to clear the shed out as tomorrow we want to go out to a garden centre that's quite a way away.
I've woke up hungry so I think french toast and bacon this morning.
Youngest boy was out with his friends last night. They are all turning 18 at the moment so lots of nights out and parties. Our youngest is 18 on Friday 13th when he has his last exam.
I've just checked and he is safely in bed but not sure what time he got in.
The baroness giving money saving tips in Tattler is ridiculous, instead of hiring a marquis for your next party, buy 200 Panama hats:rotfl: what world do these people live in!
Better get a wriggle on, have a good day all x

    Morning all,

Been up for a while been sitting here watching the storm it seems to have stopped for a while, but I think we are due more later on.

WM is on but it will have to go on the airer today, OH has just taken dd to work and then him and I are going to have a good clean through, the whole house needs doing !

Going out tonight for an Indian with the girls from work really looking forward to it, dd is off out too so OH can fend for himself which I suspect will be an Indian takeaway !

Tru I have seen the story of the old boy on FB for a few days, saying he was missing and could everyone keep an eye out for him, I love the fact that he had planned it all :rotfl:good for him !!

    Have good days all xx

No storm as yet just heavy showers so far.

It is such a shame because it is the school fete today :(

I am glad I haven't put my seedlings out yet, they are safer in the greenhouse at the moment.

Got to pop down to get some bits from the market and I need some more seed compost from Wilko.

    Afternoon All

It's been an overcast breezy day so far with just a short shower about 7.30. The washing is drying on the line, just as well as I stripped mine and DDs beds this morning. Thought I was particularly hot at night - still have the winter quilt on!! That has been changed so should be better tonight. Hope you are all surviving the thunder, hope we get some, I find it all quite exciting.

tru - thanks for sharing that article, can't believe she could spout such tripe. Perhaps she could live in our world for a while to see what it's really like!
HH - The DGC obviously think the world of you.
DG - Can we have a photo of Skye please, she sounds very smart.

Went to get some shopping this morning, including a new roller blind for the kitchen. There was a vertical blind up but the rail meant that the window wouldn't open. Got fed up with that so have taken it down, neighbour coming to put the new one up some time today.

Gradually getting the house cleaned, when I am outside all the time in the good weather the inside gets ignored. Before I know it it's filthy!!
Builders have gone, the roof is finished and the scaffolding is down, the house looks quite smart on the outside, the inside however .......!

Hope everyone is well, special thoughts to those feeling under the weather. Take care. XX

Thanks...the new one seems to have white flowers whilst the well established one had no buds. Think it needs cut back for next year. The glory of the garden is a black elder with the most gorgeous pink flowers. We've never had a garden before so it's all new and wonderful for us.

Did the wood selection for the fire surround and spent a fascinating hour with the woodman and his wife. Bombed up to Oban and then visited a friend on the way back down. Found my stove wood delivery and my tickets for Bloody Scotland event in September - crime writers fest so going to hear/see Stuart McBride, Ian Rankin, Peter Robinson, Mark Billingham and a few others. Really enjoyed it last year.

Right, feet up, Dexter in the machine and cup of tea in hand. Rsin has arrived and I'm not moving.

Hope everyone is surviving the weather.
