Really need a dehumidifier, but they are soo expensive. Been moving the furniture around in the bedroom and noticed the wallpaper felt damp behind the chest of drawers. Used a damp meter 2.9!!!!!!

That's really high. I'm fairly certain the old unused chimney is leaking but that going to be expensive (more than a dehumidifier) I love old houses but they have loads of problems. I've pulled the wet wallpaper off now so the damp has less to cling to, now to decide whether to remove the lime mortar as well

We got one off Ebay for £20, it was one of the mis-spelt entries, try fat thumbs (or is it fat fingers?)

Ok have we gone completely crackers on the elite ;)

I can't keep up with one thread never mind 2 threads - I know we can chat on a bit but if we run 2 threads not a thing in the house would ever get done and as Mr Titmarsh used to say no a child in the house would get bathed :D

Also as the mods are always on the verge of shutting us down for various infringements of the rules do we have permission to run 2 threads at the same time ????

Hang on to it.When I lost my last cat I gave all my cat meat away.3 weeks later I had to buy more because I got a new kitten.

For about a week after I had to have Spatz cat out to sleep, my mum got 3 sachets of food out when she went to feed the other two. Even though my dad had cleared his dishes out of the way, habit crept in.
