SUSPICIOUS site when trying to log into EBay

Has anyone else had this tonight? I tried to log into EBay on returning home and received this:

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to signin.ebay.co.uk, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

I've never seen EBay with: signin.ebay.co.uk but maybe that's okay as I usually have pc set so that my usual tabs open up and it always takes me the the EBay sign-in page. In all the years I've used EBay this has never happened. I'm just wary because of the Gameover virus.

Ive had firefox do it several times. I think the settings have gone paranoid.

Avast Antivirus has flagged up a few of my system files as suspicous. Older serial data files. Which are required by some of my older programs that i use a serial to USB converter with.

The address you put is not dodgy. does it start https? Does it say its secure in the address bar?

I got in eventually. I was just a bit wary with this crazy Gameover virus on the go as it's the first time I've ever had a problem logging into EBay. I'm not sure if it had https in the address bar as I read the message, copied it and closed it, just in case, then put the message on here to see if anyone else had seen this today.

I typed EBay in my address bar and went in through one of my previous attempts earlier today when it was fine and it did have https in the address bar so all okay now. I have Avast also and it has done that to a couple of my other websites today. Thanks for your reply.

Funny I have got this a few times trying to sign into my Hotmail emails, and it happened on IE as well.
