I have recently had a fails direct debit because the company transposed my bank details when they entered them on to their system, they managed to do this twice before getting it correct, thought I did pay immediately after I noticed this happened.
I also recently contacted my gym to cancel my direct debit with them buy giving them one months notice, I also canceled it at my end, they however did not inform their finance company and I got a debt collection letter which I called to inform them I had given appropriate notice to cancel.
I'm really worried as I am hoping to apply for a new mortgage soon, and don't want to cheeky credit report myself as had just done this before this all happened and was under the impression if it gets checked to often it does not look good.
Sorry for the ramble but any advice apreciated

When you check your own credit file the search left is not seen by anyone but yourself and the credit reference agency because it's classed as an 'unrecorded enquiry'.Thingscanonlygetbetter wrote: »I'm really worried as I am hoping to apply for a new mortgage soon, and don't want to cheeky credit report myself as had just done this before this all happened and was under the impression if it gets checked to often it does not look good.0
