Lawn Mower missing Grass Box

Hi all
Sorry for the stupid question. I accidentally throw away the grass box of my Powerbase lawn mower.
I am just wondering has anyone had any idea how can the lawn mower be used without the grass box? Also, can I buy a grass box online from another brand abd used it for the one I have?
I am a complete beginner in gardening, that is the reason why I throw the grass box!! :-(
Thanks for any comment.

You can still cut the grass it'll just be spat out the back and you can then rake it up.
You could try attaching a plastic bag to the grass outlet. Or try the manufacturers website, you may be able to purchase a replacement collection box.0 -
LOL .... when I unpacked mine I thought it was missing .... and it was quite a while before I realised that the two plastic halves and the "spare bit of red plastic" in another bag were the grass box .... the first one of anything's tricky isn't it
All the grass box does is collect the grass - to stop it being thrown out and onto your feet. You could make one out of lots of "bodge it" solutions - e.g. plastic bags, cardboard boxes.... but try to think about how you'll tell when it's full and how you'll attach/reattach it.
Or just accept that you did a daft thing and let the grass fly out the back over your feet and scrape it up later.0 -
Why would you buy a grass box online for 'another brand' and not for your own brand and model? It wouldn't fit, they're not universal. If it's a current model, replacements will be available. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Just email the manufacturer, explain what you've done and see if they will send you a replacement.0

First thing I did with my rotary petrol mower was throw the grass box away. It's so much easier without having to keep emptying the box.
But if you really want one, there should be one that will fit, I imagine a major manufacturer made these for Homebase but I've no idea who, maybe there's a clue on the plate.0
