Hi,
Just had a car stereo fitted and all was working fine until it started to lose all memory settings after the engine was turned off.
I believe there are 2 wires that control the power, one that is permanently live and the other that goes live when the igniton is turned, and that the permanent live is used to maintain the memory.
My problem is that the memory is only lost about every 3rd time of turning the engine off, so doesnt always happen and i have no idea what might be causing this??
Any ideas, all help much appreciated.
thanks

Check that the permanent +12V battery feed is connected correctly (typically yellow) as the memory chip will probably retain the settings for a while if this is not connected. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Yup sounds like live and switch live are the wrong way round. Try swapping yellow and red around (that's what they usually are).0
