Jeepers you're keen. It's a 4 mile walk to Ballyhack though in rush hour it's probably quicker to walk than drive

Just kidding but well done and hope you enjoy the new house. I'm glad circumstances didn't allow for me to move to Millreagh as I now live in Ballyhack and love the area. The Antrim houses were lovely I admit and the specification was very good but the location didn't suit as my preference was schools in the Belmont/Ballyhack area and not Dundonald so it was too far out for a more recent move and thankfully out of budget for previous consideration a number of years ago.

Has anyone any experience of dingles side of this site, we have looked at Both ends. We keep being drawn back to millreagh, our house is currently sale agreed, we have looked at quite a few 're sale but most need lot work completed....I think we are fussy too. My husband works in town and I work near antrim airport, not sure if we are crazy! Also have baby on way, wonder what childcare be like in dundonald.

    Thank you Caz and Stuarty,

To be honest, the location is perfect for us – relatively close to everything we’d need as it’s walking distance to Dundonald cinema and Ballyhack, and on a red bus route for commuting to town. Plus, Newtownards is just over the carriageway, with the seaside towns of North Down close too.

We’ve now opted for an Antrim Construction Rylane (due to be completed next year). We have been impressed by Antrim Construction so far - They are very professional, helpful and provided detailed plans in order for us to add/move sockets, lights etc. There was also a decent selection of kitchen options and tiles etc. Though, I would recommend going to the kitchen & tile appointments with a good idea of what you want or else you might be a bit undecided!

It is still difficult trying to envisage the property and its layout off a plan (Despite measuring out the livingroom & master bedroom on an open floor). It’s also difficult to imagine exactly how the street will look once completed. We saw a show home in the summer, but it wasn’t a Rylane and I would have loved to have seen inside one of those prior to making our decision.

Stuarty, are you in the Dingles or ACC part? If you’re in an ACC home would you have any advice? Anything you would’ve done differently? Is there a maintenance charge for the common areas (grass & shrubs)?

Anyway, really looking forward to moving in next year.

    Thanks,

    A

I live in the dingles end. We looked quite extensively at the Rylanes and some of the other properties now being built with ACC too, we dealt with Peter who admittedly was very good. I have to say though, the prices have jumped 10-15k from when we originally looked, they were expensive then, in my opinion they are far far too dear now.

There will be a maintenance charge once the developement is finished, its going to work out around £15-20 a month from memory.

Press ACC for all the extras you want (flooring the attic, extra power sockets etc etc), they won't give discounts but they will talk extras with you.

Thanks seems to be everything going up in price looking at semis both end. Was attracted to dingles one as they have small utility and near the green area. Though rylane about 10k less. Is there anything you would do different. Did you negotiate extras as part of initial process

Any questions you would be asking, when buying new???
  • Sorry, I keep forgetting I've posted in here.

There is a house for sale in the development which needs a few bits of work (amazing I know given it's ony a couple of years old), that has just went up for sale, given that it needs a few things, the price is probably negiotable and you may get more for your money, I'll pm you the details.

I just googled lists for buying new and all the questions that you should ask really, we were first time buyers, so the entire process was new for us!

Noticed a few repos in the mirror last week from this site. One was a detached. If my memory serves me well, current offer 190,000.

  • My friend has just bought here, 4 bed semi. They needed to be clos - ish to Belfast. Personally I'm not 100% sold on a massive development of 200 + homes. Also, there will always be some 2nd hand up for sale = see Propertypal !! Also consider your budget £200 k or more ?? is a hell of a lot of money for a semi. Could you get better value in Ballyhack or just off the Belmont Road ?? Also will you know anyone ? Given THAT size of a mortgage it would take 2 incomes to pay for it :cry: When will you see your neighbours ? There are no shops nearby - you always need to jump in your car. Hope this helps...... My friend loves her new house because it was clean & shiny and all ready to move into. But you pay for that :). GOOD LUCK

Um, you're posting on a thread which was last active in 2014... it may be well out of date by now :)
