Still unsure whether I will get my bank account, I've been panicking a bit about this. Gone with rbs as that's where my current account is and of course I have no debts with them - been open with them about the DMP so hoping to get on to their foundation account, which is a business account for people with poor credit. Bit concerned that BCs messing about might affect my application though. Hmmm. If I can't get it I will have to get a one card or cashplus account which is far from ideal, but no credit checking and at least I can get trading.

    Love to you all

Good luck with the new business, sometimes redundancy can be that door opening, but remember us when you are rich & famous:T

I'm not sure if it would work for a business account but Secure Trust have a credit check free account, but it costs £12.50 a month which is why I left, but you could probably put that against business expenses...just a thought..

I think i will write to them rather than phone so i have a paper trail, and ask why they are treating the 2 products differently, this morning i have had letters from barclay card, i have 2 because barclay card took over from the original card provider one has accepted the offer and refused the other. the debt on both is very similar and the offer is only a couple of pounds different so that makes no sense to me either.

    Good Morning Schmalf..

Yes our dmp's are like twins.. :D I think we did start around the same time. I personally, assuming BC do actually default me won't rock boats to have it moved as my dmp is due to run for a good few years yet anyway.. They are still not charging me any interest hence I have not challenged the ap markers so far.. If they do start charging interest and don't default me I will be ready for battle...!!!

Good luck with the new bank account and business..

    Love Puzz. x

Got a default notice today also from BC saying to pay more or be defaulted, did also mention being passed to third party did your notices say that too.

No, mine was a demand for an outstanding amount, if I didn't pay by set date account will be closed.. (yes please).. formal demand for payment (sorry not happening.. ) and then they will register a default with credit reference agencies. (yes please..).

    Hi all, just checking in.
Managed to save a bundle per month moving from near London to the midlands, where I hail from, and renting with my OH. Increased my monthly payment on my DMP and shaved years off my DFD. Still a long way to go but feeling positive today.
Sorry to hear people are having problems with BC. Hope it gets sorted soon

Hi all, new to this forum.

I'm not the best person for this so thought I would ask here as I've used other forums for myself. One of my good friends is in a DMP with stepchange. However, she has some new loans that she has taken out to help with unforseen expenses such as car repairs etc. These loans are very high interest and she can't manage the monthly payment. I've told her to declare them to stepchange and ask if they can be included in her DMP. She is frightened of doing this in case stepchange cancel her DMP as she has taken out additional finance. She has only taken this out as she had nobody to ask for help. Does anyone have any idea of what is likely to happen to her? I'm trying to talk her into phoning them and confessing all as I've had money problems myself in the past and know how worrying it can be.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Poodle,

You are a nice friend to try to help her. She is correct that SC take a dim view of taking out extra finance and are known to cancel DMPs on that basis, however I don't know what they do if you confess! Perhaps someone here has experience of this.

I'm not sure how much her loans are for, but it is feasible with SC to say you have to reduce payment for emergency car or house repairs, esp if you have to have a vehicle for work etc.

So whilst I'm all for honesty is the best policy, if only because I'm so dim I wouldn't remember what I told and to who, if she told SC she couldn't make her payment for X months due to the car repairs, would that let her be able to clear it? She wouldn't actually have to say she took the loans out. And in the future she could just ask SC what to do in sim circumstances?

Hope it helps, and maybe she'd like to come on here and join us for a bit of moral support? :T

And for me, I have actually sorted out my printer and written to all my creditors saying this is why I'm on reduced payments, and I'm very sorry and I hope it will improve later in the year etc etc

No replies yet but the calls seem to have stopped. Let's see what happens, am expecting a couple might default ....please ...
