There you go, this post should be added to the stickies, as the number of posts on this subject, by new users, grows on a daily basis.

agree that a subject based stickies thing would be good.

just catching up on the last few days - sounds like we all have OCDFW syndrome - checking balances frantically and obsessively :) I know I do!

So we made our 1st payment on our dmp with Stepchange on the 1/4, and today I received a letter from post office credit card who have rejected our payment plan from stepchange and they are now asking for the full balance which I obviously haven't got but I have also noticed that they haven't charged me any late payment or interest this month either. Should I just keep sending my monthly payment via stepchange or try somewhere to find the minimum payment that they want, as this is only a small debt and they are only getting £10 a month less than the min payment.

    Hi,
I would just keep paying through stepchange, if you pay the minimum they are asking for then you are not treating all creditors fairly in stepchange's eyes.

Hi, I'm with Puzz, let SC know but just keep paying the SC agreed amount, people often get 'reject DMP' letters, usually means they are more likely to default, but I'm this case I think it's probably just a policy. You'll soon be down to the minimum payment anyway.

All other creditors ok? Stick around, we like company. :D

    Hi all,
Just wanted to check in and applaud :T all DMPers (old and new) for their good work on working towards that great DFD!

Some news on my front, just checked Noddle and have 3 defaults! 6 to go! I also bought myself a bag today, nothing flash, but needed an overnight bag for travelling to and from London (mature student here!). I was using my 8 year old hand bag and carrier bags until now and it is so nice to be able to say I bought a new bag, from my own money, not on credit and not from a charity shop (not that there's anything wrong with charity shops, I love them and will never give them up!).Not much to some, I realise that, but it's made my day! Feel slightly guilty for spending £16 on an overnight bag though!

Hope you're all doing good x

    Hi Ali80

It's a great feeling indeed to buy those planned items that before might have been a credit job or eaten into other budgets. :T Don't feel guilty about the £16. I spend a lot of time travelling for Job no 3 and can identify with the carrier bag scenario. One day I was pursued down the road by an old lady who was picking up items I'd dropped from a leaking carrier bag. This included an iPhone charger, makeup bag and passport! I reckon replacing all of the above would have cost over £100 (bearing in mind the passport)so bit the bullet and spent a little on a secure travel bag.

Hi everyone - hope you are all well and loving the great weather :)

I've been obsessively checking my creditor accounts because I thought the SC payment would have shown up by now......nada....not a thing :(

Oh well - I guess I will just have to wait until the end of month as originally planned. I just wish SC hadn't got my hopes up for early payment in the first place :)

The Post Office credit card was my worst debt. I owed them the least and never once said they were happy to accept my token payment offer. They couldn't have any more, I set up a standing order to them and eventually they went quiet.

    Thank you

I've logged in to all my accounts and only Hellifax (same group as Lloyds) has updated the balance with the April SC payment.

    Creditors not yet updated are:

    B'card
    MBNA
    V'money
    RBS
    NWst
    ShopDirect

On a very nice positive note - the balance on the MBNA account had reduced by just over £385 so I was confused.....but MBNA have accepted my complaint over interest and fees charged when we initially notified we were going on a DMP in January and refunded the lot :j The disappointing bit is that we had 3 MBNA accounts of which 2 were under the guise of V'money. In Feb V'money separated from MBNA. Same complaint to V'money but they won't reverse the charges - oh well, win some lose some....just make sure I continue trying :D The fees and charges they refuse to remove are 'up to the date' we notified of DMP and appeared on following month statement so I do understand - just don't like:mad:
