Hi TTFTM
New accounts set up, my salary credited to new account, DH's not due until middle of Feb but his payroll team have advised by email that change to new account has been made. I want to trust them but am just not confident:cool:
Old current account has an available balance of just over £40 (which is not credit, but available on agreed overdraft). All DDs cancelled except the loan DDs.
I think I will leave things as they are for now - and wait for StepChange to contact the bank. We don't need to even make token payments yet as nothing is due to come out of the account until 16th Feb (next loan payment). If SC haven't contacted bank by then, then I will contact them directly and let them know. I just want to leave it as long as possible with this one because of being confident of DH's salary going into the new account.DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

I've just started my own DMP which in theory will last 25 years (£50k at £150 pm) but I expect to get one or more of inheritance/house sale/career advancement, well before that. If I was in your position I would have thrown in the towel with the bankruptcy courts by now! You obviously have serious commitment and determination.
Best wishes

Think there was more stigma back then. Plus it was my dirty secret. No one knew. Now my family know, best friends and even the ex.
I had a good 2014 claiming PPI and relaimed £25k.
That is going to go towards F&F settlements.
Even if no one accepts a reduced settlement my total debt would be 25k. I also have the option to buy the council flat I have lived in with a 70% discount so the plan is to be debt free / rent free by 2020 but I can't even think about that until this is gone so need.
I hit rock bottom in 2005. The journey uphill has been tough but I'm on the last few laps now. Will get there... We all will31st December 2004 - Debt was £128,596.72

Hi NewcastlePaul
Great to hear from you again, more than halfway already:T:T was wondering how things were going, your knowledge and experience are invaluable on here, esp for the very long termers. Glad you were able to pop back and say hi.
Hullo. Good to be back. Didn't log in much as it seemed a reminder of my circumstances but am comfortable with it all now and just ready to start the part of my journey.31st December 2004 - Debt was £128,596.72

If anyone hasn't done so. Please look into any potential PPI claims.
My 2014 PPI journey can be seen HERE
The one advantage of being on a long term DMP is that even if you foolishly buried your head in the sand and threw away paperwork in denial like me, if you are with the likes of Stepchange then you can go online and see your DMP with creditors and account numbers listed !!
Even if you don't have this luxury (???) then you can ring the individual creditors PPI helplines and ask if you paid PPI.
I couldn't believe when I done this and most said yes and sent a claim form.
Even if they won't say then you can send a SAR (Subject Access Request) letter to them and they have to send you all info that they have on you.
It takes a bit of time but it's worth it and whatever you do. don't use a company to do it for you. Do it yourself and keep the proceeds.
Obviously everyones circumstances or different and you have to a valid reason whilst you thought the PPI was missold but if you don't ask you don't get.
For the price of a couple of phonecalls or stamps (or at worst £10 cheque for a SAR) you could vastly reduce your DMP period31st December 2004 - Debt was £128,596.72

Hi all, I've opened my ISA with Newcastle building soc.
I thought since I'm setting up all these standing orders to my creditors, why not set up one to myself! It's £1 a month, which I'll increase when I can (just like paying a creditor!). Just by paying something (£1) in every month I qualify for a decent interest rate.
NewcastlePaul - I did this online but you could just go to your local branch!
Regards

It's the Big Home Saver ISA, see Martin's article for details.0

Can anyone tell me the address they used when sending the standard letter to Lloyds Credit card? On the statement there is an address on the back about sending payment slips to Sheffield and then on the front it says Lloyds credit services, Brighton ( but not the full address). Don't want to send it to the wrong place and then it have to go round in circles before it actually gets read.
Thanks
Just an extra question.....where would I send a letter re a Lloyds Loan....can't find address for that anywhere. Would I send it to the branch or what??
