We are finally on an even keel. We've had some issues along the way, but nothing we could not handle. I just wish we did the DMP back in 2010! Just keep on rolling along, Jubilee!Husband's LBM: 26 September 2012

Hi all
Yes - will definitely roll with the punches both at work and at home
MB I thought with the exotic language and settlement money maybe you had decided to treat yourself to a whistle-stop tour of the Med :cool::)alyxzandra wrote: »Hello, everyone! Well, it has been an interesting last few months. We are nearly in 1.5 years of our DMP with Stepchange. In the meantime, we've paid off 2 creditors with full and final settlements and we made our last payment to a friend in October. At our highest we owed our £60,000! :eek: And we just kept making the minimum payments and swapping credit cards for the low interest.
Another inspiring story - thanks alyxzandra just starting out with SC - and wondered whether you have had any comebacks from SC or other creditors when you made f&f settlements - it's something I have in mind for the future (hopefully):)
Thanks

or do you mean £££'s...:rotfl:mb maybe you could do some freelance blurb writing whilst at home - you definitely have a talent for it :cool:0 -
Sunny, I might well consider doing a whistle stop tour of the med if I could flipping sit down! LOL x
As for freelance blurb, I don't think I could charge for my drivel LOL tho it is a nice ideaI was thinking of my own bran of condoms... The sales pitch would be something like;
Monkeyball condoms, they're expensive... But not 18 years of raising a kid expensive, buy some today and save on the future!
I'd have a video of a guy looking at his bank balance and crying as a small child wails loudly in the background...

Hello timeforchange2014 - the way you described how the debt has affected you mentally/ emotionally sounds very familiar. I am on antidepressants at the moment and even though things are progressing with the dmp, and I certainly sleep better than I used to, there are still bad days and I'm still affected by it. I try to take one day at a time and look after myself as much as I can and remind myself that I am digging myself out of a hole and each step forward, each pound paid off is a step towards financial peace. Good luck on your journey (and to everyone else on here!).Debt at highest - June 2013 - 26k/ March 2018 - 2500
Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
An odd day
Not a bad day per se but odd. Final dentists visit in this session after 11 visits over 6 months, teeth are soooo much better now, and he gave me the moulds used for making the crowns, apparently I should keep them in case I lose the crowns (not unlikely). See if I can manage 6 months without back.
Secondly came across papers relating to our joint wills. As this is a bit relevant to my lodger ex at the moment I though I would just check and realised that we have unsigned copies but no originals. I recall being told and paying for storage somewhere but where ? After a bit of research found the firm I though we with were with were liquidated in 1999. So looks like it's either pay £50 to search for a copy of the will which may or may not be retained somewhere, or confess to the ex - which is probably why he's the ex - that I screwed up again and he needs to write a new will... Oh joyful conversation line for tomorrow:(
Just grateful I found out while he's still well enough for us/him to do something about it. Not so important if I don't have a will, nothing to leave but debt and no one who would be bothered! Not that he has anything either
Rolling with the proverbialDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.
