Hiya!
It can take forever for your accounts to freeze. I was made BR in March, and HSBC only just froze the account! As long as you don't use it for anything, it'll be fine, but be aware that correspondence from your creditors may continue for a few months.
You can open a new account as soon as you wish, as long as its basic banking facilities.BCSC Member 70:j

Yes it does count, but you may be OK provided you didn't spend a fortune & provided you hadn't been given your BR order confirming that you were now BR. Once you're declared BR, your accounts & everything in them belong to the OR so you shouldn't touch them at all, especially to take money out. That's why it's essential you withdraw all the money you're going to need beforehand, as once you've got your stamped documents, the money isn't yours to take - not even for lunch.

Out of interest, how much is "it was not much", & had you already been given your BR order with the date & time stamped on it? If you had, you might be advised to tell the OR you did it. I suspect most ORs will be OK with it, but some seem to have a vice-like grip on the rules & you may be pulled up over it, as you should have been aware that you can't touch your bank account once you've got that stamped document in your hands. Better that the info comes from you rather than they find out for themselves.
If you haven't sorted out your direct debits etc, you'd better cancel them first thing tomorrow (if you can't do them via telephone banking tonight), before the bank's informed that you're BR. If you don't & your direct debits go unpaid, the charges for them will have arisen after your BR date & they won't be covered by the bankruptcy.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

If you can afford to, keep the moby and make arrangements to pay another way, I do it online via my Nationwide account. Depends how much you pay monthly whether the OR will allow for it or whether some of the cost will have to be met from your surplus income. Keeping a mobile contract, and most providers will let you, will ultimately improve your credit rating, as long as you pay on time of course0

I believe, and someone will come along soon who knows, that it can only be included in BR if the account is in arrears at the time of your BR. If I'm right then I know of peeps who have just phoned their provider, told them the situation and had the contract cancelled there and then0
