How Do I...Create a Mailing List

Hi All!

Would it be practical to create a mailing list, that people looking at my website, can add their names to? Maybe a couple of hundred names, possibly.

Guess I mean easy for me to add one (free would be cool!)

when I've tried to mail anyone in my address book, on AOL, in any quantity, they block it, 'cos they think it's spamming!!

Yeh most hosts have their mail servers configured not to send more than, I think it's 30, e-mails at a time from any single domain. So what you need is a custom script to handle your mailings, and one that forces the subscriber to confirm their e-mail so that spammers can't hijack your script.

There's a section dedicated to such scripts at www.hotscripts.com.

The one I use is http://www.phplist.com/ , took a bit of setting up, but does the job.
