Advice for UK Expats living abroad
Hi everyone,
I'm a British Expat currently living abroad. Does anyone have any advice for sending money from abroad to the UK? Does anyone have any experience of doing this through good and trustworthy companies that will give good exchange rates?
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum.
This section is for Energy(gas/electricity supply) so I suggest you repost in the sections dealing with foreign currency - where there have been lots of similar queries. Also Martin Lewis has written an article that is updated:

In answer to your question however, it really depends on the amount of currency and how often you will be exchanging.
There are a huge number of long established FX firms, sometimes owned by the big banks, but you should be aware that very few give a watertight guarantee, which is important since the crash of Crown Currency.
Personally I have an account with Citibank UK which enables me to have Sterling, US$ and Euro current accounts with transfer between those accounts 'instant' by phone or on-line.
Not the keenest exchange rate, but better than major banks and really convenient.0
