Help! Flatmate/ex boyfriend dispute....

I think I'm pretty much stuffed in this situation (live and learn eh) but thought I would see if anyone can help....
I shared a flat with a friend for 6 months, after which she moved out and my then boyfriend moved in at the end of Aug last year. He is on the tenancy agreement and paid half the deposit.. The bills were in my name and I never got his put onto the bill, partly because I just never got around to it and partly cos when I did ask they couldn't add him without him saying so on the phone. He worked long hours and was never in when I called. So he used to just give me half of the money for the bills every month.
He isn't a very nice person and incidents (police called out and bashed front door down) lead to us being given an eviction notice. We then broke up and counter-noticed them and gave a month's notice. I left shortly after.
However he won't give me the last month's worth of bills, or settle up for final bills. He is still in the property at the moment and I moved out early to keep the peace and protect myself and my stuff from harm (he took to throwing things about!)
So he is living there bill free for the last month, using elec gas water etc that I have paid for and he hasn't. Cheeky so and so.
As he is not named on the bills I am guessing legally I do not have a leg to stand on to claim money off him?
The deposit is due to be paid into my bank account when he leaves, if I keep his half to cover my costs can I get into trouble?
In addition I was forced by him to take out a credit agreement in my own name to get him a bike when he lost his driving license (DD). He still has the bike and I have the debt and I guess I am stuck with this also!!
(and yes I know not to be so stupid in future)

!!!!!!. You sound like some of the tenants I've had over the years.
Anyway, I think you should keep all his deposit for your troubles. Don't bother trying to claim anything off him. It will probably be more hassle than it's worth.
Also, ring up your utilities suppliers and tell them you have moved out and give them his name. You may even get a rebate.
Not sure about the bike though. I'm no expert on credit agreements (never use them)

The phrase "Chalk it up to experience" comes to mind.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0

If he's as bad as you say the chances of him leaving the place in a condition in which you get any deposit back at all must surely be negligible.
As you have already guessed, you are stuffed on the credit agreement. Is it a loan or an HP agreement? If its an HP agreement, you could always stop paying and let them repossess the bike, though this will affect your credit rating.0
