New to PPI issue and forum posting

I am a first time user of this (or any other) forum and would like to ask if anyone can give advice on how to begin a claim for mis-sold PPI and/or bank charges.
My husband and I (separated but not divorced) held a mortgage for almost 25 years with The Abbey National and were joint bank account holders with the Clydesdale Bank. I no longer have account numbers etc related to these accounts but feel sure we must've paid thousands over the years in charges and insurances.
Can anyone give me any advice on how to start the process of claiming back PPI & bank charges?
Thanks to all.

Do note that most mortgage PPI complaints are rejected and that any redress (should it be awarded) would be shared with your estranged husband.
For bank charges, note that historical charges (older than six months) are not refundable and that any money you might receive is entirely at the discretion of the Bank in question. If you do not currently meet the Bank's criteria for Financial "hardship", you'll get nothing at all.

Most people pay insurances to cover their mortgage. That is quite normal and sensible. This is why most mortgage insurance complaints fail.
It also seems from your post that you dont even know if you paid anything. So, what would your complaint be?
As for bank charges, are you in current financial hardship and still have that account running?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
