Car Insurance SDP or Business use?

Hi there.

I have a quote from comparethemarket that I am happy with, but on review, I notice that the options are Social Domestic Pleasure only & Business use. There is a help button which describes a third choice to include commuting, but there are only two buttons. Please see pic.




I need cover for commuting- what do i do?

I thought this might have given me a quick answer from someone who has used it, but I have just read the policy wording and the SDP does cover commuting.

Beware that some policies may exclude commuting.

SDP, SDPC and Business are often very close in price. In fact I cannot remember ever paying any different from SDPC and Business.

Remember commuting only ever covers one place of work so if you EVER travel to another site or place for a meeting, training etc you need business cover

I think adding business use cost me an extra £2-ish this year. That was quite expensive compared with what it usually costs. If there's any chance that you might need it (eg if you go to an off site meeting or training session once a year and use your own car to get there) then there's no reason not to add it.
