I'm planning on going to the USA for a road trip of sorts in the next 18 months. I plan to be there for around 3 weeks. It's likely that I will be taking a lot of 'valuables' with me (DSLR camera, 2 x iPad, iPod Classic, 2 x iPhone, sat nav, compact digital camera).
I've worked out that I'll maybe have around £3,000 of these valuables.
I have had a brief look at travel insurance, and it seems most insurers offer a 'valuables' limit of around £300-£500, which doesn't even nearly begin to cover the amounts we need.
I want to know what the best way to have these articles insured against theft is? I'm not usually as concerned on other holidays, as at any given time I'm not carrying the majority of the valuables, but given this is a road trip, they will be on my person the majority of the time.
The only insurer I've found so far is insurefor.com, who I don't know much about so am relatively reluctant to book with. I know this will incur a premium, but I'm happy to pay! I'm also happy for this to be separate from my health travel insurance if necessary.
Any advice welcome.

Do you have worldwide personal possessions cover on your home insurance? I think that's your best bet. Check for cover in relation to unattended vehicles though.0

I'm less concerned about what's in the vehicle, as I appreciate that will be difficult to adequately cover, it's more the expensive things that will be in my backpack. I'll have a look at home insurance though - thanks0
