Lender panel list

Hi guys
I have recently had my house offer accepted and i am using London and Country mortgage brokers. they have referred me to Premier lawyers for conveyancing (they have in fact sent me their decision in principle attachment with Premier lawyers quotation)
i am not comfortable using Premier lawyers as they have a lot of bad reviews and prices are a bit high. When i told the mortgage adviser this he informed me that he highly recommends them and if i choose my local solicitors, they might not be on the lenders approved panel meaning i will have to pay more. He is going to let me know tomorrow about the mortgages so have not really got a lender to check the panel list.
The estate agent are wanting me to provide the name of the solicitor ASAP and I am really confused. Should i wait until we decide which lender we apply with and search their solicitors panel list which is against my mortgage adviser's recommendation or just go with Premier lawyers and hope for the best.

I think you're probably making the right choice...
Which lender or possible shortlist of lenders is it? Call the solicitor and ask if they are on the panel(s). Some lenders will accept any solicitor with Conveyancing Quality Scheme accreditation - does the solicitor have this?Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -
Always use a local solicitor to you. Preferably one recommended that you can see face to face.
I've seen too many sales fall through because of inept "pile em high" solicitors. It may cost you a few quid extra but is much less likely to cause the loss of the property you're buying.
Most solicitors are on most lender panels but it is wise to check.0 -
I have not got a lender yet as the mortgage adviser will get back to me tomorrow following his research as i called him late today to tell him house offer had been accepted. I am hoping to get the shortlist tomorrow and do my research on local solicitors then. I have had a few quotes from local solicitors who have the conveyancing quality Scheme accreditation. Thanks for your help0

Decide on a lender.
Call or visit local solicitors and ask for quotes, making sure you tell them which lender it is and get confirmation they are on that lender's list.0 -
So long as its not a 1 man band you will find most solicitors are on panel with lenders.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
