Sorry if this is in the wrong place but first time poster here.
I have recently sorted out the majority of my debts, only owing £800 down from approx £12,000. I thought i'd check my credit file to see what it said and I have seen a CCJ that i have never been informed about. Dated from Nov 2008 showing as still active, at an address i moved out of over 6 months before the CCJ date.
Its for £160 but i don't know how to proceed as i don't know who i allegedly owe the money too and what for. I have tried contacting the court in question (Northampton) but i just get an automated message saying everyone is busy and to try again later (I have phoned over 12 times on over the last 3 days). I have also tried to email them but got a generic reply saying they would not accept this email submission. My next step is to write a letter but wanted to check if anyone had any advice first.
Also I am aware that i stays on the credit file for 6 years, is this from the court date or from when its settled as it will be six years in November from the date shown
Thanks in advance for any help

6 years from the judgement date.
Unfortunately the only way to find out who obtained the judgement is to contact the court.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Yes only the court can tell you who the creditor was/is.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
