Do people need to wait a while before applying for a second one?
I've only just got mine set up [1] and online it currently says I can't have a second account.
[1] online activation code received this week, topped up to the full amount, standing order in set up and working, standing order out set up yet to make first payment

I applied online for 2 straight after each other last week - both opened without any issues.0

Based on my experiences and those of others (see other TSB threads), it's normal for it to say 'sorry, we can't offer you a secondary account' while you're logged in to online banking. The solution is to log out and go through the application process again from scratch, after which they should open a second account that's automatically available within your online banking.0

If you have a second TSB can you fund it from the first TSB account or do you need to put the £500 from another bank for both accounts?

You can set up a standing order of £500 from TSB A to TSB B and from TSB B to TSB A to take place on the same day.
Don't forget to sign up for paperless statements and paperless correspondence - you can do this on line.
