E:31/07 Win 1 Of 3 Copies Of The Orangutan Diaries On DVD

A rescue mission to help save some of our closest relatives- Orangutans
Prepare for a rollercoaster ride of emotions following the life and death struggle to save irresistibly cute Orang-utan orphans in Borneo. With their forest home disappearing at a terrifying rate, it’s estimated that these magnificent animals will be extinct within 10 years.

Presenters and crew spend a moving, inspiring and involving week at the biggest Orang-utan rehabilitation centre in the world, doing all they can to save these magnificent animals. They witness both success and failure, as Orang-utans are helped to take their tentative first steps back into an independent life in the wild and they join the dangerous rescue missions and anti-poaching patrols.

The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation’s aim is to ensure a wild future for endangered Orangutans. More than 450 rescued animals have found a safe home at the Nyaru Menteng Centre in Borneo. Director and former air stewardess, Lone Droscher Nielson, has dedicated the last 13 years of her life to saving these great apes. She and her team work round the clock to care for and educate the Orangutans. Their aim is to return as many animals as possible back to the wild.

From the creators of Big Cat Week and Elephant Diaries, Orangutan Diary is presented by Steve Leonard and Michaela Strachan. A heartbreaking plight, Orangutan Diary is a uniquely intimate look at the most engaging of the great apes, in one of the remotest corners of the world.
