Credit card protection

I was sold a product call privy guard by my back believing that it was a credit card protection. As I had not received my form to complete for a refund I telephoned privy guard but was told it was not a credit card protect but a identity protection product. This was sold me over the telephone when I activated my new credit car (when you use to have to activate them). I was lead to believe that it was for credit card protection. This was a number of years ago and since I did it I have had no correspondence from them. Does anyone know how I stand with this.

Are you saying that a number of years ago you paid for something, you aren't really sure exactly what it was and you've received no documentation or anything tangible relating to it? If so, I suspect that you're just going to have to put it down to (in)experience and move on!

I'd guess OP is trying to jump on the PPI or CCP bandwagon, and is now a bit miffed they bought the wrong (a different) product.

I'd doubt it's misselling. OP wrote:

That seems more like mis-buying to me.

How rude, I can assure you I am no an OP trying to jump on the bandwagon I bought this from lloyds TSB as it was then in the belief it was credit card protection and had one conformation letter. It then appeared on my credit card each month. Thank you for the first post but the second one petty you haven't got something constructive to say.

As "privy" is the smallest room in the house, I wonder what a "privy guard" does. :D

Why did you ask for a "form to complete for a refund" if you thought your bought card protection? Trying to claim back PPI?

It seems you only found out what you really had after trying to claim a refund.

Did the conformation letter say it was PPI? My guess is that you didn't read it.

I tried searching for 'lloyds privy guard' and Google autocorrects this to 'lloyds privacy guard' and brings back a number of matches, including posts on this forum and some articles from February 2014 when it was suggested that Lloyds may have missold this product. Have a read through and see what, if anything, sounds similar to your experiences and what others have been able to do about it.
