Not on BT, but Talk Talk. Will be ringing them soon to ask if there's anything they can do.

Nobody used to live here before me and to be honest i don't think they have any details for my address, just my number. Which makes me think someone filled out a bunch of forms for payday loans and tweeked their phone number which happened to end up being mine and now i'm paying for it.

Most of the time if i say i'm not the person they are looking for, there is noone here of that name, they hang up. If i ask who they are, what company they are from, what do they want etc, they hang up.

2 have actually bothered telling me who they are and why they are ringing, the others i have looked up. One lady swore at me last night, another said he was randomly picking numbers out the phone book (mine is not listed) and have had no issues with these types of calls before for the 4 years i've had this number.

They are all debt consolidation type places and payday loans. I read on one of these "Who's calling me" type sites that if someone applies for a payday loan and they fail these companies will sell the details on immediately. Someone stated they tried for one and starting getting texts and calls a couple of hours later.

I dunno, going to try to see if i can get supervisor names, company emails etc. Also keep track of numbers, complain with TPS and if nothing else works, see what my phone company can do.

Funilly enough i came home today and there were no missed calls, but not counting my chickens just yet lol.

Thank you all for your advice :)

This might sound simplistic but I find they fall off when you use caller display and just don't answer them.

I was being bombarded with 'loan approval' texts not long ago - and don't some of those companies have dodgy sounding names? - I just deleted them and now I hardly ever hear from them.

It's International calls that are plaguing us at the moment. We have a BT Call Blocker phone, so we don't hear the phone, but when you check, they're calling 3 or 4 times each day.
