Combined tickets for Australia and NZ

Options
My daughter and her partner are planning a trip to New Zealand and Australia in December. They want to fly out on dec 26th to Auckland then
approximately 3 weeks later fly from Christchurch to Sydney staying there for a week or so before flying back to London with a possible short stopover on the way back

Obviously this is the most expensive time possible to go so does anyone have any recommendations for good companies to bookwith/would it be cheaper to get the arround world ticket

You are right - a RTW ticket is probably the cheapest. Travelled to NZ last October and used TRAVELBAGwho sorted us out a ticket using BA / Qantas. We had a stopover in San Francisco on the way there and Hong Kong on the way back, also had internal flight between Auckland and Christchurch and between Christchurch and Sydney. There is also a Oneworld ticket where the price depends on the number of continents you visit. Try BA for more info.
You could also try getting a cheapish ticket (not best time of year to go) to Auckland and then use the collection of no-frills airlines for other flights. If using Air NZ then you could have a stopover in the US. TIMES ONLINE have a special section on low-cost flights.

Just a note though I feel that 3 weeks is not going to be long enough in NZ and Sydeny AND possibly a stopover aswell. North Island - Auckland was OK, Rotorua, Lake Taupo and Napier were also good places to visit, however we thought that there wasn't as much to do in the North. South Island was much better. Hired campervan and went from Christchurch to Dundedin, Te Anua, Milford Sound, Fox Glacier, Arthurs Pass and Kaikora. Spend more time in the South than the North but make sure you book your activities as it is the height of summer. Swimming with wild dolphins and whale watching in Kaikora were the highlights for us.
For a stopover try Hong Kong it is the most clean and well run city I have ever seen. There have been lots of threads on here.

There are photos of both these places on my holiday website at the bottom of this post.

Anymore questions ask and someone will help.
