Can anyone comment on whether this is a fair price for laying of a patio about 40 m2?
-Lift existing (small) patio and level earth
-place weed proof membrane and lay base (bed of mortar)
-Lay new patio slabs and edging
-Point in new patio slabs
Cost £3.5k excluding price of slabs.

£87 per sq metre, excluding materials. They are having you off. You could have it laid in sets for about half that cost.
