Hi
I am a very basic diy'er and not done a lot on my own so sorry for such a stupid question but i have a drill I bought about 3 to 4 years ago and never really used it, now when I am trying to use it the top bit where you insert all the bits looks quite hard to do or undo, basically the part that holds the bits. Is there a way I can make it smoother or is it now useless and time to get a new one.
I have a 100+ set of bits so ideally if i can use them it would be great otherwise would these bits work in some other drill like Makita or bosch.
Thanks.

The drill bits will work in any drill. What is the 'top bit' you're referring to? You either have a keyed chuck, where you insert the key into the recess and turn to tighten or loosen or the keyless with hand tightening.
Squirt some wd-40 on it.0 -
As said probably needs some lubricant due to lack of use
This is type that uses a key
This is key less chuck with is tightened with your hands

Thank you so much for replies, I will try wd40 and if no luck I will post the picture online or may be the model number, I am sure it must be outdated by now.0
