Some PPC's regularly take people to court, some don't and they have six years to decide.
Best case is you would have to put up with a harassing chain of letters until they finally gave up.
Worst case is defending a small claims court case - which can be very time consuming and no guarantee of success (small claims can be a bit of a lottery).

So the advice is Not to ignore but to appeal and get shut of it once and for all with a 1st appeal to the PPC (usually rejected) followed by a 2nd stage appeal to either POPLA (for BPA members) or IAS (for IPC members)

If you have a PCN please read the NEWBIES thread and create your own thread if you need further advice

im curious, what happens if you do ignore these tickets like people were advised to prior to oct 2012?

what is the likely outcome? do these companies take you to court? or send bailiffs round?

They can't send bailiffs round unless they've first won a court case.

Very few of these companies take people to court, but those that do, do so frequently and aggressively. MET is not currently among them, but there's nothing to say they will not change their policy some time in the next 6 years.
