Warranty for new Windows

I recently got some new windows installed after some seals failed on the previous ones.

I confirmed with the installer that there was a warranty on them and he advised yes (10 - 15 years I think). At the end of the job I asked for this warranty in writing and he said the warranty was not with him as the installer, it was with the supplier and he emailed me their details.

I would have thought my warranty is with the installer - I had no contact or nothing to do with the supplier of the windows. Any thoughts?

PS - I have no reason to suspect there is anything wrong with the windows but obviously would like a warranty in writing

Your installer should receive on average a 10 year guarantee from his supplier which he then passes on to you. Any problems should be sorted out by him as he's the one you did business with not his supplier
