I have just spent 20 mins on the phone with this lot from the Co-Op. I have now successfully managed to get a joint account into a sole account after months of arguing (I wanted my name off of it). I asked to speak to the data controller or a manger in the team to ensure they update my files with the CRA's so that I have no financial links or address links with the ex and the account is shown as closed.....the reply was Sorry but we can't discuss this with you now as your name is not on the account
I am not surprised they are having problems. I suppose a letter will have to be sent, even though they had just contacted me about the account

Once you have no joint accounts open and this is reflected on your credit file then you need to contact each credit reference agencies yourself and file a notice of disassociation. As a starting point this is a link to experian's form http://experian.metafaq.com/help/Statutory/Credit_report/no_longer_linkedA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Exactly.
It should be hats off to the Co-Op for actually adhering to the DPA.0 -

You seem to be missing the point.
I was being contacted by the Co-Op re the joint accounts and I was cooperating. I wanted my name off of the account and madam was being a pain and was abusive to the bank staff on the phone so not good all round. I wanted to disassociate myself from her and I was asking the data controller to ensure this happened. So why couldnt they talk to meI love green dots :T I hate red dots :mad:0
