This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone

Another hi and fly by visit!
I seem to be running later and later but I am adding up this month on the Payment a Day challenge so that takes a little bit of time. I really do love that challenge and feel it has made a massive difference to me personally :T
Nothing much new, DH is still marking exams, DD is still settling into house, I am still tired. Really must do a freezer inventory and meal plan tonight, when marking is going on, everything seems to go to pot.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day

[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]One of mr tru's customers sells all sorts of seed garlic by mail order, she gave him some freebies. They were planted a while ago and he pulled a couple up yesterday – one Sprint and one Germidour – they taste amazing! I have to wait a couple of months to try the other two varieties. I will never buy garlic from the supermarket again

Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs to those that want/need them.
Now light, wet underfoot and now raining steadily, it’s very dull, dark and dreich – rain looks set in for the day.
DH up and getting ready for work, he’ll be leaving shortly.
Dinner last night was a late one, but we had ham, egg, chips/jacket potato and salad. Tonight will be chicken and bacon risotto as I haven’t planned very well and I have all the ingredients for this without buying anything more.
Hairdresser arrived at the booked time but had forgotten why I’d booked her to come earlier so she could re-blond me and start that process first – luckily it wasn’t a problem and she’d got everything with her to do it so got cracking with it – menfolk all had cuts to, so we’re all presentable again.
Yesterday work was steadily busy but then we had times where we had loads of people waiting and we had to advise people we couldn’t add anyone else to the waiting list as we’d got 7 people waiting to be seen and every advisor was already with a customer – there’s changes to our staffing proposed to take effect shortly – this is going to make this situation horrific as we don’t have enough staff most of the time now before the changes. We have a meeting with the boss regarding this today – we don’t think the management will change their minds but we’re going to have our say! I’ve said all along it’s becoming survival of those that can cope – those that can’t are going to go down and it seems that the management don’t care!
Only working today until lunchtime, then have the normal chores to do, will be making some phone calls too.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Been reading but not found time to post, not sure what happened the last couple of days!
Julie - Glad the funeral went as well as it could.
Candlelight - Fantastic news!
tru - Sorry to hear about Red.
HH - How did your appraisal go? Must have missed that. The dresses are fab.
Lovely morning here, yesterday was pouring down and then turned into the most beautiful afternoon/evening. I got 3 loads of washing dried when I got home at 3.30. Had salmon for tea with veggies and new pots which was lovely for a summers evening.
I was very good and did all the ironing last night so all washing up to date, even have a load on the line this morning.
Chicken something for tea, will decide later. I haven't had to cook much as DS2 has been doing the honours which is a great help.
Hope you all have a good day. Take care. XX0 -
tru - I think I have it, I looked in the cellar the other day and there are 2 hoes down there, I was sure we only had one!0

lol! Can I have it back please, I don't want wet knees

Morning all,
I'm up early this morning, my knees are aching like the devil this morning. Probably. Wearing little teeny tiny heels at the funeral yesterday. I think I'm destined to wear flats forever, it's hard when your only 5ft 2.
I've lost another 1.5 so that's 13.5 since I started, almost a stone and I'm feeling much better in my clothes already. Just another 3 st to go.
It was good to see mum and dad yesterday. I think my dad is finally seeing the sense in moving nearer to us. He has to renew his driving licence soon and I think he is considering what it would be like if he couldn't drive.
I've tidied round already and emptied the dishwasher. I need to do some washing but it's wet here. Probably leave it until tomorrow.
No tea to do tonight as we are at our sons for a low fat curry.
TTFTM glad your daughter is settling ok, hope you get a bit more of a rest now all the hard work is done x
Off for some breakfast, have a lovely day xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all, soggy here too and there is the most depressed looking pigeon sitting dripping on the fence with his shoulders hunched and looking so fed up, poor old thing!!! He Who Knows and the lurcha have just gone out for thier walk and one of them at least was kitted out in full waterproofs, yukkk!!!
Today I'm going to be busy in the kitchen as we are visiting DD2 and the Zebra child tomorrow and I'm taking lunch and supplies for them for a few days, making a sausage plait, a quiche lorraine and a chocolate victoria sponge to leave there and bolognese sauce and a raspberry crumble for our lunch tomorrow. I'm so looking forward to my cuddles with the baby. Other than that today will be washing that will have to go up in the utility room, general housework and a good tidy up upstairs.
Have a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.0
