Permitted Work and Bonuses

I posted this on the benefits forum but no one could help so I'm hoping someone here can help.
I am currently receiving contribution based esa and am in the support group. I am doing a few hours a week supported permitted work and hoping one day I may be able to come off esa altogether.
My employer is talking about giving all his staff a cash bonus as business has been very good. What would happen if I received one? Do I inform dwp?
I did try ringing them today but after 20 mins on hold I gave up! I will need a bonus to pay the phone bill!
Thank you.

is that "cash in hand"?
your decision (but i dont support benefit fraud)0 -
No not cash in hand, all above board.
I don't support benefit fraud either and that is why I said that I had tried to ring them. I was just wanting to know what happens with things like this.
I thought it may be that my payment from dwp would be reduced by the amount I got.0 -
I should add my boss pays all his staff in cash. Everyone gets payslips and pays tax etc he is just old fashioned like that. He pays weekly as well!0

you could notify them in writing or try phoning between 8am and 9am when they arent as busy0

Will try ringing in the morning again, thanks for that.
As for benefit fraud I'm ridiculously the other way, I ring them if I find 50p in the street lol0
