Tax credit decision

Hello

I'm just wondering how long, on average, it takes to get a decision on wtc/ctc?

Website says up to 3 weeks, but if they need additional info do they ring or write, and how long from providing that info can you expect to hear?

Many thanks.

I think the issue will be that I have applied as a single applicant, even though my ex is still living in the house.

I waited to submit my claim until our house had sold and I have now put an offer on my own house so am hoping this will be proof enough that we are not together or living as a couple, just financial circumstances mean we cannot move out of the house until it's sold (equity needed to buy another house etc).

    Many thanks
